SediCell

Sedicell is a mechanically simple and robust Dissolved Air Floatation clarifier which allows simultaneous removal of floatable and settable solids from suspensions in water for high clarity. Firstly, the raw water enters the central distributor and blends with air released from air carrier water. After this, the air bubbles carry the flocculated solids to the water surface and the Heavier particles settle at the bottom of the tank floor. After the separation of these particles, clear water present between the zones of floated and settled solid particles, is subsequently discharged into the overflow of an adjustable weir. The water level in the Sedicell tank can be controlled by adjusting the weir. The floated matter is removed by the rotating spiral scoop and is discharged into the central distributor and to the sludge well. A suspended bottom scraper scrapes the settled solids (sludge) into a bottom pit. The matter in the pit is periodically and automatically purged from the tank. The pressurized recycled air carrier water is now pumped directly into the Air Dissolving Tube (ADT), from where it is released, mixed with incoming raw water. The average residence time for water in the Sedicell is 30 to 40 minutes
