Sea Food Waste Water Treatment

Waste water from seafood handling setups can be very high in BOD (bio-chemical oxygen demand), FOG (Fat, oil and grease) & nitrogen content. Dissolved air flotation and flocculation is the key component of the sea food wastewater treatment plant. Sea food processing plants yield waste water holding a large amount of pollutants which are soluble, colloidal and in particulate forms. The amount of pollution depends on the process. Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is extremely prevalent waste water treatment process usedby a large number of industries such as petrochemical and chemical plants, papermills, refineries, hospitals, etc. This DAF technique is used in order to remove pollutants loads in the waste water before discharging it in the mainstreams. These pollutants can be termed as BOD, COD, fat oils, grease, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, suspended solids, etc. DAF water treatment removes pollutantsby clearing the water by eradicating suspended solids.
