A sludge is mainly classified into two categories which are Primary sludge and secondary sludge. The mud which occurs due to the chemical precipitation, sedimentation, and the primary process is called primary sludge. In contrast, the secondary Sludge occurs due to the activated waste biomass resulting from the biological wastewater treatment.



Treatment and disposal of the sewage sludge is the major problem the significant issues. Sludge dewatering is mainly used to reduce the weight and volume of the sludge, so the disposal and sludge handling can be done quickly and at the lowest cost. Removal of water is the primary factor in volume reduction. With the increasing water pollution, sludge treatment becomes one of the crucial factors for getting clean water.
